Our story

Home Ec & Shop—created by longtime local Shopkeep Angela Pilloud—is a multi-concept collection of neighborhood restaurants & retail shops, all designed to feel like extensions of Home.

Our story begins in 1999 with the opening of Devil’s Food Bakery on Historic South Gaylord Street and we’ve since grown into an entire family of six unique “departments”.

the Shops at Myrtle Hill and South Downing call two historic South Denver communities home and are located along old denver streetcar lines. Clustered within Washington Park & Rosedale, each just a short jaunt from the other, the departments of Home Ec & Shop invite you to build on the details of daily life.
